The prefectural city of Nantong in east China’s Jiangsu province marked its first talent day on Thursday in a bid to give full play to the role of varied talents in its economic and social development.
Nantong has provided comprehensive assistance for entrepreneurship and industry chain support, and released the construction and operation plan of Nantong International Youth Talent Port.
“The first ‘Nantong Talent Day’ targets young talentsbygathering innovative talent recruitment methods that combine ‘internship, practicing, and employment’, providing over 7000 job vacancies and attracting tens of thousands of young talents. In the next step, we will coordinate the introduction and cultivation, strengthen the connection between technology, education, and talent, and upgrade the introduction of a new talent policy,” said Feng Yufeng, Director of the Talent Work Department of the Organization Department of the Nantong Municipal Party Committee.
“I majored in polymer materials in the Department of chemical engineering of Tsinghua University with a bachelor"s degree and a master"s degree. We have developed a new type of sponge material to replace soil and need to find a place with developed agriculture and industry to promote production. Haimen has a very good industrial background, and the government has provided us with multiple rounds of financing. We currently have 200 muof planting bases in Haimen and Chongchuan to expand scale and industrialization. We have also received funding from the Jiangsu Provincial‘Innovation and Entrepreneurship’ Leading Talent Project,” said Zhou Tianyu, General Manager of Urethane Tinglan (Nantong) Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd.
Nantong has taken the lead in the province in establishing a comprehensive subsidy system for high-level talents within the province, introducing supportive policies including financial policy support, training and further education subsidies, and talent introduction and recommendation rewards to attract talents to find job and start businesses in Nantong.
