Xin Changxing, Secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, met in Nanjing on Wednesday with the economic and trade delegation of the Taiwan Federation of Industry led by Miao Fengqiang, chairman of the board of directors, to the Chinese Mainland.

On behalf of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Government, Xin Changxing welcomed the Taiwan delegation and expressed gratitude for its care and support for the development of Jiangsu over the years.

He said that since the beginning of this year, many Taiwanese compatriots have visited Jiangsu to have renewed friendship and discussed cooperation, adding that the resumption of the direct passenger route between Nanjing and Taiwan indicated the unstoppable aspirations of the compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait for peace, development, exchange, and cooperation.

He said Jiangsu is one of the regions with the most intensive investment and business development by Taiwanese businessmen and enterprises through the most frequent exchanges between Taiwanese nationals and mainland China, and the most fruitful achievements in cross-strait exchanges and cooperation.

Xin remarked that the Taiwan Federation of Industry is the largest and most influential business organization in Taiwan, and has actively supported its member enterprises to invest in Jiangsu for a long time.

The Secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee hopes that Taiwanese businessmen will have the confidence to continue their development in Jiangsu, engage in in-depth cooperation with complementary advantages around the industrial chain, supply chain, talent chain, capital chain, and innovation chain, and gain initiative, advantages, and future in integrating into the new development pattern for strengthening the Chinese national economy.

He hoped that the Taiwan Federation of Industry will give full play to its advantages, continue to promote the peaceful and integrated development of cross-strait relations, and contribute more to promoting the spiritual harmony, enhancing the well-being of cross-strait compatriots, and working together to achieve national rejuvenation.

Miao Fengqiang stated that Jiangsu has provided a peaceful and comfortable development environment for Taiwanese businesses and enterprises. The Taiwan Federation of Industry will lead its member enterprises to actively participate in Jiangsu"s high-quality development and modernization drive, promote the integration of Jiangsu and Taiwan, and make new contributions to promoting the peaceful development of the cross-strait relations.
