Peixian County in east China’s Jiangsu province was awarded the honorary title of "Hometown of Chinese Literature" to become the 15th counties or county-level city in China to have been awarded this honor. Let’s take a close look.

The awarding ceremony of the "Hometown of Chinese Literature" and the launch ceremony of the "Famous Chinese Writers Watching Peixian" and the third Reading Festival were held on Tuesday at the Peixian Cultural Center Hall.

Xu Guixiang, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Writers" Association and Chairman of the Chinese Literature Foundation, awarded the plaque to Peixian County. Among the leaders present at the awarding ceremony were Zhang Jianhua, Chairman of the Jiangsu Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and Zheng Yan, Secretary of the Party Group and First Secretary of the Secretariat of the Jiangsu Writers" Association.

Cultural heritage is a cultural treasure trove left by history to Peixian. As a result, the Peixian County Party Committee and the county government have attached great importance to cultural construction by giving full play to cultural resources to create a characteristic reading activity, actively carry out literature popularization work, build a creation platform for literary and artistic workers, establish a literature site, form a literature centripetal force, and gather a strong force to promote the development of literature.

“The Jiangsu Writers" Associationwill also do our best to support corresponding literary creation projects and promote the further development of the historical and cultural heritage of Peixian,” said Yang Fameng, Member of the Party Group and Secretary of the Secretariat of the Jiangsu Writers" Association.

In the future, Peixian will coordinate and promote the inheritance of cultural heritage, literary and artistic creation, innovation of cultural industries, and integration of culture and tourism in a bid to provide rich cultural nourishment for the reform and development of Peixian.
