East China’s Jiangsu province has made unremitting efforts to promote high-quality employment with more comprehensive employment services so that the number of new urban employment in the province continues to rank among the top in the country.

The Suzhou Construction Odd Job Market, the first of its kind in the province’s construction industry, gathers over a hundred human resource service and construction labor agencies by holding recruitment fairs every Wednesday and Saturday.

Focusing on the needs of construction workers, the Suzhou Construction Odd Job Market has provided a variety of services, such as the provision of collective dormitories in response to the situation that many job seekers come from places outside of the city, allowing job seekers to stay for free for a week.

The market also relies on training carriers such as public training bases to carry out construction skills training.

“Suzhou has established 13 various types of job markets by giving full play to the role of industry associations and third-party enterprises to analyze enterprise data and labor shortages, comprehensively understand job information, and provide workers with full process, three-dimensional services and guarantees such as skill training, rights maintenance, and secure dormitory services”, Yu Xiaofeng, Director of Suzhou Labor and Employment Management Service Center, said.

Since the beginning of this year, the Jiangsu Human Resources and Social Security Department has launched convenient employment service stations and one-stop job markets so as to weave a sound and diversified grassroots employment service network, making public employment services more precise, efficient, and equally accessible.

In Linlu Lane Community, Huishan District of Wuxi City, the community employment service station publicized job vacancies, training activities and people with difficulties in finding jobs.

Some of the information are provided by the integrated information platform of the provincial human resources and social security department, while some others are provided by community grid members and volunteers through regular home visits so as to make employment services more precise and efficient.

“Our platform accurately matches the needs of both parties. The community has also imbedded employment services into the daily lives of disadvantaged people and improving our service efficiency by holding job fairs in parks, supermarkets, markets, and bus stations”, Ou Yunkai, CPC chief of Linlu Lane Community, Huishan District of Wuxi City, said.

From January to April, 454 thousand urban residents in Jiangsu were employed, up 6.8% year on year, continuing to rank among the top in the country. The province employed a total of 20.686 million people, a gain of 171 thousand people year-on-year, maintaining growth for three months in a row.
