East China"s Jiangsu Province kicked off the 15th Congress of the Provincial Trade Unions Monday in Nanjing. Xin Changxing, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People"s Congress, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. Xu Liuping, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group, Vice Chairman, and First Secretary of the Secretariat of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, delivered a speech. Among the top leaders present at the ceremony were Xu Kunlin, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor, Zhang Yizhen, Chairwoman of the Provincial Political Consultative Conference, and Deng Xiuming, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee.

On behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People"s Congress, the Provincial Government, and the Provincial Committee of the Chinese People"s Political Consultative Conference, Xin Changxing congratulated the convening of the conference, expressed sincere gratitude to the All-China Federation of Trade Unions for its long-term care and support for the work of Jiangsu"s trade unions, and sent sincere greetings to all the deputies to the congress, employees across the province, and trade union staff.

Noting that the working class is the country"s leading class, he said Jiangsu is an important birthplace of China"s labor movement and one of the earliest regions in the country to establish trade union organizations.

Xin said that looking back at the magnificent historical process, every cause promoted in Jiangsu is engraved with the footsteps of the working class, every achievement achieved is condensed with the wisdom and sweat of the workers, and every leap achieved demonstrates the great creative power of Jiangsu"s workers.

Noting that practice has proven that the working class is worthy of being pioneers in promoting social progress, he said workers are worthy of being the main force in Jiangsu"s economic and social development and modernization drive.

Xin Changxing pointed out that on the new journey, Jiangsu shoulders the historical responsibility of writing a new chapter in the modernization drive of new Jiangsu, which is the sincere expectation of the General Secretary for the development of Jiangsu, and also the overall requirements, goals, and blueprint of all work determined by Jiangsu. He hoped that the workers in the province will shoulder their mission through unity and struggle, make achievements through hard work, and create happiness through strenuous efforts so as to make greater contributions to the great journey of building a strong country and national rejuvenation.

By calling on the province to carry out education campaign on study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the CPC provincial chief demanded further efforts to enhance political stance, gain insight into the decisive significance that the Party has established Comrade Xi Jinping"s core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole and defined the guiding role of the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era from the political height of strengthening the four consciousnesses and the four self-confidences, safeguarding the authority of the CPC Central Committee and getting united around the centralized and unified leadership the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core.

On behalf of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, Xu Liuping extended his warm congratulation to the convening of the congress. He hoped that trade unions at all levels in Jiangsu can effectively strengthen the ideological and political guidance of the workers, deepen the reform of industrial worker team construction, conscientiously fulfill the basic responsibility of safeguarding rights and services, continue to deepen trade union reform and construction, continuously consolidate the common ideological foundation of employees" unity and struggle, and fully stimulate the innovative and creative vitality of employees in building a new Jiangsu.

He hoped that trade unions at all levels in Jiangsu can effectively enhance the workers" sense of gain, happiness, and security, effectively play the role of being a bridge and link between the Party and workers, and demonstrate greater responsibility and make greater contributions in the new era and journey.
