A High-level Forum on Integrated Development of the Yangtze River Delta was held Tuesday afternoon in Hefei, capital of east China’s Jiangsu province, with a view to promoting integration and high quality, and strive to write a new chapter of Chinese path to modernization in the Yangtze River Delta.

Promoting the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta is a major national strategy personally planned, deployed and promoted by General Secretary Xi Jinping, said Chen Jining, Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee. Chen is also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.

Chen Jining said Shanghai will comply with international high standard economic and trade agreements, work together with Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui to deepen integrated reforms, promote institutional openness, promote coordinated development of the Yangtze River Delta Pilot Free Trade Zone, strengthen high-level innovation collaboration, accelerate the construction of an international science and technology innovation center, deepen innovation collaboration in the Yangtze River Delta region, and jointly create a scientific and technological innovation community, promote the construction of a high standard market system, stimulate the integrated development of industry chain, value chain, and supply chain, and jointly promote the writing of a new chapter of high-quality integrated development in the Yangtze River Delta.

Xin Changxing, Secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee, said that the momentum of integrated development in the Yangtze River Delta has fully verified the integration effect of regional development, where "flow creates value" and "1+1+1+1" must be greater than "4".

Embarking on the new journey, Jiangsu will deeply study and implement General Secretary Xi"s important instructions on promoting the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta and the spirit of his important speech on Jiangsu"s work.

Yi Lianhong, Secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee, said that embarking on the new journey of the Chinese path to modernization, Zhejiang will thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech and instructions, promote the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta to a new level, and make greater contributions to the overall development of the country.

Han Jun, Secretary of the Anhui Provincial Party Committee, said that Anhui will make every effort to make it a source of technological innovation, a destination for emerging industries, a new highland for reform and opening-up, and a comprehensive green transformation zone for economic and social development so as to accelerate the construction of an agricultural and cultural powerhouse, and serve the national strategy in its contribution.
