The 19th Jiangsu Reading Festival and 2023 Huai"an Zhou Enlai Reading Festival were held on Sunday at the Enlai Cadre College in Huai"an City. Zhang Aijun, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Publicity Department, attended the event. Xu Ying, Deputy Governor of the Provincial Government and leader of the Provincial Leading Group for National Reading Activities, was also present.

Zhang Aijun visited the Scholarly Huai"an Construction Achievement Exhibition and praised the new progress and achievements made in the process.

He emphasized the need to thoroughly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping"s important statement on promoting universal reading, the deployment and requirements of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China on deepening universal reading activities, vigorously advocate reading and learning, focus on strengthening the supply of excellent publishing products and services, create better reading conditions, and promote the participation of the entire society in reading.

During this Jiangsu Reading Festival, Jiangsu will hold 152 key activities in four categories, including theme reading activities, brand demonstration activities, key group reading activities, and classified reading promotion activities.

In Nanjing, the month-long 14th Nanjing Library Reading Festival kicked off on Sunday.

The cultural disability assistance series for World Reading Day also began on Sunday, with activities such as singing, drama, and recitation to lead the public to appreciate the charm of reading for all.

Zhenjiang and Wuxi have also held numerous exciting reading activities such as reading festivals and carnivals to offer readers a rich cultural feast.
