East China"s Jiangsu province has stepped up the construction of major investment projects and ensured their smooth progress through every possible effort s as to fulfill goals for social and economic development set forth in this year"s government work report.

The Binjiang Station project of Nanjing Metro Line 4 saw phased progress on Sunday. The construction of two subway shield shafts crossing the Yangtze River is about to be completed, 24 days ahead of schedule.

"For Metro Line 4, the reinforcement of the periphery of the shield receiving shaft has laid a solid foundation for the subway shield tunneling machine to cross the Yangtze River," said Cui Yuxuan, Deputy Manager of Nanjing Project Department of China Energy Construction Gezhouba No.1 Company.

The Binjiang Station project of Nanjing Metro Line 4 is located in Jiangbei New Area, with a total underground construction area of approximately 851 thousand square meters, covering underground commercial, parking, pipe gallery, and rail transit floors.

Suzhou Metro Line 8 is a backbone line from northwest to southeast on the outskirts of the ancient city, as well as an intercity passenger flow distribution line. 28 stations will be built along the 35.5-kilometer- line.

Metro Line 8 will interchange with Line 3 at Xijinqiao Station and Tangzhuang Station, further improving the structure and functions of Suzhou"s rail transit network.

"At present, the station and main construction of Line 8 are about to be completed, and the electromechanical system is being installed. It is expected to be put into operation in 2024," said Li Wentao, Vehicle Project Engineer of Suzhou Rail Transit Construction Company.

The construction party of the Yangkou-Lvsi Railway has recently completed track, communication, and contact network tests, marking that the railway has met the conditions for opening to traffic and laying the foundation for subsequent formal operation.

The Yangkou-Lvsi Railway will connect Yangkou Port Area, Tongzhou Bay Port Area, Dongzao Port Area, and Lvsi Port Area, forming the north-south artery of the Yangtze River, East China Sea, and railway transportation in Tongzhou Bay.
