Four cases from Nanjing and Suzhou were selected as 25 cases with strong institutional innovation, good market response, and reference and promotion value for nationwide promotion, according to the "Best Practice Cases" of the third batch of pilot projects for comprehensively deepening service trade innovation and development recently issued by the State Council.

The four cases include the national "Core Fire" entrepreneurship and innovation platform linking global services and the new scenario of "cross-border live streaming service trade" in the Nanjing Sub-zone of the Jiangsu Free Trade Zone, as well as the innovative optimization of foreign work facilitation services and the promotion of innovative development of new types of international trade in the Suzhou Sub-zone of the Jiangsu Free Trade Zone.
As one of the first two projects funded by the National Integrated Circuit "Core Fire" Program, the innovation and entrepreneurship platform has established public technology services, including EDA software and hardware sharing centers and chip testing laboratory clusters, to meet the common needs of enterprise research and development by covering all aspects of chip design enterprise research and development.
As of the end of last year, the platform has provided over 8000 public technology services, involving a service volume of 370 million yuan, supporting the research and development innovation of nearly 600 chips. This platform is open to enterprises for the use of nearly a thousand expensive experimental equipment, while integrating cutting-edge research and development resources to provide one-stop scientific research and development solutions for enterprise development.
"This platform connects domestic and international industry chain service resources, including enterprise research and development, from prototype design to testing to testing in the production process. The Suzhou Free Trade Zone has issued special support policies, built a comprehensive service platform, promoted the innovative development of new offshore service trade, encouraged banks to provide efficient and convenient cross-border fund settlement services for real and legal new offshore international trade of enterprises, and promoted the rapid growth of offshore trade business.
SIG Combibloc Group is a leading global supplier of aseptic packaging systems and solutions for food and beverages. Relying on offshore trade, Combibloc can directly ship equipment produced at overseas bases to customers around the world.
With all transportation completed overseas, the fund settlement is carried out through a dedicated account opened by Combibloc"s Suzhou headquarters, achieving the separation of goods logistics, fund flow, and order flow.

"Our park"s offshore trade records a settlement volume of nearly 1.6 billion yuan per year, accounting for half of Suzhou"s total," said Gu Yejun, Deputy Director of Comprehensive Coordination Bureau of Suzhou Industrial Park Free Trade Zone.
Service trade is a new engine for the transformation and upgrading of foreign trade. In recent years, Jiangsu has made every effort to promote the innovative development of service trade by focusing on the needs of enterprises, and taking the lead in the country in introducing several measures to accelerate the development of digital trade.
In 2022, Jiangsu recorded a service trade volume of 57.09 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 9.3%, leading the country for 14 consecutive years.
