East China’s Jiangsu province has made every effort to step up the construction of major investment projects and ensured their smooth progress so as to fulfill goals for social and economic development. JSBC has the story.

The Sports Center Station of Wuxi’s Metro Line 5, a three-floor underground station, has a deepest underground wall of 41.5 meters that add up to a total length of 202.7 meters. It will become a T-shaped transfer station with the Sports Center Station of Metro Line 4.

“The construction of the diaphragm walls at the Sports Center Station has been completed making it the first of its kind on Metro Line 5. This station is divided in two by Lixi Road, so we have carried out diaphragm walls construction on both sides to ensure the smooth progress of the construction”, Zhan Pingyu, Deputy Chief Engineer of Civil Engineering Section 03 of Wuxi Metro Line 5 of China Railway Second Bureau, said.

22 stations are constructed on the first phase of the 25.4-kilometer-long rail transit system.

The steel truss beam of the southern half of the Qingyanggang Bridge on the Jiangyin-Zhangjiagang section of the Shanghai- Nanjing Expressway has been launched, laying the foundation for the opening of the bridge and the expressway at the end of September.

“With the steel truss beam jacking completed, we will install the bridge deck above the steel truss beam and start construction of the bridge deck system and its auxiliary structures on both sides of the steel truss beam approach bridge”, Zhao Gangjie, Director of the Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway Bridge Project on the Jiangyin-Zhangjiagang Section, said.

The Qingyang Port Bridge of the Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway will improve the water transportation and navigation conditions of the Qingyang Port to enable the passage of thousand-tonnage container ships, effectively promote the optimization of regional industrial layout and structural upgrading, and give a strong impetus to the integrated high-quality development of the Yangtze River Delta.
