A conference was held Saturday and Sunday in Fengxian County, Jiangsu province, on high quality geographical products, habitat protection and sustainable development. Among the participants were more than 100 scholars, decision-makers, and entrepreneurs in the field of global change and ancient Yellow River flood plain and young scholars in the fields of education and communication from all over the country.
The meeting is held to further explore the new model of regional development of the ancient Yellow River flood plain in the context of global change, and the role of science and technology in the rural revitalization and sustainable development of the ancient Yellow River flood plain.
The participants conducted on-site inspections on the case of high-quality geographical product habitat protection and sustainable development in Fengxian County.
They also unveiled the cases of habitat protection and sustainable development of Fengxian Pear and Fengxian Apple in Yellow River old course.
Experts and scholars gave presentations on issues such as sustainable development in the ancient Yellow River floodplain, protection of intellectual property rights for high-quality geographical products, and high-quality regional development, as well as technology assistance for high-quality development in the field of landmark habitats.
The Institute of Geographic Sciences and Resources of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Fengxian Public Data Center signed a strategic cooperation agreement on the "Global Change Science Data Publishing System World Data Center Sustainable Development Application Sub-center".
