East China’s Jiangsu province has spared no effort to effectively protect the healthy growth of minors by continuously introducing new measures and mechanisms.

Right before the International Children"s Day, the Guide to Healthy Nurturing and Care of 0-3 Year Old Infants jointly prepared by various departments in Changzhou was officially released.
By referring to relevant standards from the National Health Commission, the United Nations Children"s Fund, and the World Health Organization, the manual is compiled by integrating knowledge of child health and nurturing care both domestically and internationally and including professional knowledge in areas such as health, nutrition, safety, and early learning opportunities.
The guidance book on infant and child health care, which is the first of its kind in the province, will be distributed free of charge to childcare institutions and caregivers, relieving their confusion on the path of childcare.
“This book is characterized by the readability and legibility of parents, making it easier to read, remember and execute, with words, tables and pictures”, Tu Wenjuan, Director of the Health Promotion Center of Changzhou Children"s Hospital, said.
“This book taught me how to take care of my baby in terms of food and sleep safety. It is a great treasure and compass for our family”, Wang Jing, a resident of Changzhou, said.
Food safety for students is an issue of concern and focus of social attention. Suining County has invited principals, supervisors, parents, and social supervisors to accompany students for dining so as to promote communication and exchange and monitor the quality of students" meals, ensure that they have balanced nutrition and suitable taste.
“This communication has not only strengthened the principal"s responsibility, but also increased transparency in the quality and price of food. We have demanded schools to upload pictures of dining process of the students to their parents’ wechat groups so as to accept parental supervision”, Feng Xu, Suining County Education Bureau, Xuzhou City, said.
At the Sunshine Special School of Wuxi Children"s Welfare Home, senior children are learning how to pack steel wire balls in a small workshop, so that they can have the opportunity for employment in the future.
Lower grade children are experiencing pizza baking and learning how to store and organize. In the rehabilitation area, children are undergoing exercise therapy and sensory training. Children are taken good care of so that they can continue to grow through learning. In the meantime, the welfare home provides services to families in need.
“We accept children from families in need to share resources and take care of disabled children in nearby communities through micro-happiness projects, so that our children can grow up healthy and happy”, Chen Guomei, Dean of Wuxi Children"s Welfare Home, said.
Jiangsu is building a group of child welfare institutions that integrate care, treatment, health, education, and social work to protect the growth of orphans and disabled children.
At the same time, Jiangsu is also accelerating the improvement of the care and service system for disadvantaged children and rural left-behind children.
The Children"s Care Home in Guangfu Town, Wuzhong District, Suzhou is conducting a unique simulated trial for teenagers. Similar specialty classrooms are regularly held at the Children"s Care Home, providing after-school counseling and psychological counseling for nearby needy and left-behind children.
The Zhangjiagang Juvenile Care and Protection Center has made every effort to explore the implementation of graded case management services for disadvantaged children so as to provide solid support for disadvantaged children.
“We focus on vulnerable and left-behind children in order to comprehensively enhance the security of child welfare work. We will do our best to protect minors with all our hearts and efforts”, Chen Zhengfeng, Director of Suzhou Civil Affairs Bureau, said.
A celebration of International Children"s Day jointly sponsored by public welfare organizations and volunteers in Nanjing witnessed the children"s happiness.
Jiangsu is making every effort to strengthen the protection network for minors by building a collaborative care service system with Jiangsu characteristics so as to better protect the growth of children.
