In an ecological park in Liyang, over a hundred mu of red bayberry are gradually maturing. Under the sunlight, the black and red fruits are so dazzling and eye-catching that make people watery and experience the joy of picking.
“It"s very sweet and good. I recommend everyone to come over to pick on your own”, a citizen of Changzhousaid.
According to the head of the ecological park, the red bayberry this year is of good quality as there was less rainfall during the ripening period. The ecological park will provide technology for local farmers, establish a red bayberry industrial cooperative, and promote shared prosperity among the villagers.
“Our red bayberry industry can help nearby farmers increase their income by 3000 to 4000 yuan per year. We will further expand the planting scale by introducing more excellent varieties so as to help more people to participate in the bayberry industry”, Dai Gaofeng, Head of an ecological park in Liyang City, said.
At a blueberry planting base in Jurong City, what catches your eye is the ripe blueberries wrapped in a thin layer of fruit powder, emitting a faint blue purple color, which is truly delightful.
“Since receiving tourists on May 27th, we have witnessed an increasing flow of customers. We charge 50 yuan for per kilogram of blueberries that the tourists picked on their own”, Zhang Hucheng, Director of Yafu Xingnong Jietang Blueberry Base in Baitu Town, Jurong, said.
By successively introducing high-quality early maturing varieties such as O"Neill and Misty blueberry seedlings, the base has expanded its planting areas to 285 mu. With green planting method adopted, the blueberry is of good taste with moderate acidity and sweetness, which is highly praised by customers.
A blackberry planting base in Yizheng city has ushered in the annual picking season. Under the supervision of Yangzhou Customs, approximately 4 tons of frozen blackberries were sealed to be ready for export to Israel.
“Our blackberries meet the inspection standards of various exporting countries, and we are looking forward to increasing our exports by 20% -30% year-on-year this year”, Cheng Xianling, Deputy General Manager of Jiangsu Huitian Technology Development Co., Ltd., said.
In recent years, Yizheng has made great efforts to develop modern agriculture, leisure and vacation industries by relying on the blackberry base so as to have achieved the integrated development of the whole industrial chain of planting, processing and tourism, and promoted the farmers’ income growth.
“Our company has provided technology, services, and seedlings to help the local farmers expand the growing areas of blueberry to about 3000 mu with a final plan of growing 15000 mu”, Cheng Xianling, Deputy General Manager of Jiangsu Huitian Technology Development Co., Ltd., said.
