Two 2000 ton wind power pipe piles were shipped on April 8 from Zhangjiagang Port to Huizhou Port in south China"s Guangdong Province. The pipe piles will be used for the first affordable offshore wind power project in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area.
The two wind power pipe piles each weigh about 2000 tons, have a diameter of 9.6 meters, are 103 meters long, and are worth over 30 million yuan each.
"This offshore wind power pipe pile needs to be driven to the seabed. This project requires a total of 4 wind power pipe piles. Two pieces will be shipped first this time, and the remaining two pieces are expected to be shipped sometime later this month," said Li Min, Deputy General Manager of Zhangjiagang Port New Heavy Loading Terminal Port Affairs Co., Ltd.
Zhangjiagang Port has carried out the shipment of two pipe piles in advance, and the Maritime Safety Bureau has also actively coordinated to ensure the smooth shipment of equipment.
"We have implemented traffic control on small boats upstream of the dock, requiring the dredging ships of the Zhangjiagang Jingjiang Rugao Yangtze River Bridge to stop sailing and make way for large cargo loading, and all ferries are required to travel northward," said Zheng Daqing, Zhangjiagang Maritime Safety Bureau Bonded Zone Maritime Patrol Law Enforcement Brigade.
When the first affordable offshore wind power project in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area is put into operation, the installed capacity of the Huizhou Port Offshore Wind Power Base of China Nuclear Power Group Co., Ltd. will reach 1 million kilowatts, becoming the first million kilowatt level offshore wind power project base in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area by providing 3 billion kilowatts of clean electricity annually.
