7 cases in Jiangsu have been selected as the "Typical Cases of New Consumption Development" in the country, ranking first in terms of quantity, the Provincial Development and Reform Commission said on Thursday.

Supporting the development of new types of consumption is of great significance in ensuring the daily needs of residents, comprehensively promoting consumption, cultivating a complete domestic demand system, and constructing a new development pattern.
The "Typical Cases of New Consumption Development" summarizes the distinctive highlights of new consumption development in various regions, aiming to form a batch of replicable and promotable effective models, and provide demonstration experience for the development of new consumption nationwide.
Since the beginning of this year, Jiangsu has witnessed the steady development of new consumption models, with rapid growth in online consumption, ensuring that residents" consumption methods are moving towards convenience, greenery, and intelligence, and continuously consolidating the trend of online shopping as a driving force for the growth of the consumer market.
From January to February, enterprises above designated size in the province achieved a year-on-year growth of 14.6% in retail sales through public networks, which is 10.3 percentage points higher than the growth rate of retail sales above designated size in the province, driving a 2.5 percentage point increase in retail sales above designated size in the province
