East China’s Jiangsu province has reported an upsurge in the tourism market since the start of spring, as is evidenced by the growing number of tourists swarming the scenic areas across the province over the weekend.
On Saturday night, the "Century Legend" cruise ship, which started from Chongqing and was loaded with hundreds of tourists, docked in Yangzhou, becoming the first Yangtze River cruise ship to visit Yangzhou since the relaxation of the COVID-19 epidemic control measures.
Statistics show that in the first quarter, Nanjing received over 44 million tourists, an increase of 22.09% compared with the same period of 2019. In Yangzhou, the Slender West Lake scenic spot alone received over a million tourists in March.
Since March, various parts of Jiangsu have attracted tourists to enjoy flowers, stimulating a blowout growth in the number of tourists. Zhenjiang, Nantong, and Xuzhou have designed tourism routes by combining flower appreciation with urban leisure, rural vacation, and specialty cuisine, satisfying people"s demand for improving and upgrading leisure consumption.
Nianhua Bay in Wuxi, Holland Flower Sea Scenic Spot in Yancheng, and Santai Mountain Tourist Attraction in Suqian have released flower appreciation strategies and tourist routes on social media platforms, making every effort to attract tourists from all over the country.
"We have launched performance carnival, camping festival, float parade, time concert, and flower coffee festival, bringing visitors a different experience of flower appreciation," saidWang Lin, Interpreter, Holland Flower Sea Reception Center, Dafeng District, Yancheng.
Industry experts believe that Jiangsu"s cultural and tourism consumption has taken the lead in recovering by benefiting from its rich cultural and tourism resources and strong maintenance and development. On the other hand, it has also provided the foundation for the rapid recovery of the industry through effective corporate rescue measures in the tourism industry in the early stage.
Over the weekend, in response to the "spring outing craze" in beautiful rural areas, Jiangning District of Nanjing released a "weekend camping plan" that runs throughout the year that include original natural scenery and diversified combination of camping, research, music, cuisine, and homestays.
Many cultural and tourism enterprises in Yangzhou and Taizhou have innovatively created "tourism+" new products with local characteristics, such as intangible cultural heritage bazaars and hot spring health care, to capture the hearts of tourists with deep immersion experiences.
Jiangsu will launch a series of activities such as the Fifth Grand Canal Cultural Tourism Expo, Intangible Cultural Heritage Shopping Festival, and Rural Tourism Festival to further promote the recovery of the cultural tourism market.
