At the launch ceremony of the 8th "China Space Day", the National Space Administration and the Chinese Academy of Sciences jointly released on Monday China"s first Mars exploration global image map and a series of scientific exploration data, which will make China"s contribution to the in-depth understanding of Mars.
The image released this time is in color with a spatial resolution of 76 meters, which will provide a better quality basic base map for conducting Mars exploration engineering and Mars scientific research.
The International Astronomical Union named 22 Tianwen 1 landing areas and nearby geographical entities after historical and cultural villages and towns with a population of less than 100 thousand in China, and permanently engraved the Chinese logo on the Martian land. One of them is "Zhouzhuang" in Jiangsu.
The event announced the 2023 "China Aerospace Image Ambassadors", including Wang Chi, an academician of the CAS Member, Chen Dong, an astronaut, and Han Zaifen, a Huangmei Opera performing artist.
During the Space Day event, an exhibition will be held with the theme of "China"s Space to the World", showcasing a batch of heavyweight physical objects such as lunar soil and the "Chang"e-5" spacecraft.
More than 30 sub forums have gathered over 1200 well-known experts, scholars, and managers in the field of aerospace both domestically and internationally to explore the new pattern of aerospace development and assist in the construction of a strong aerospace country.
“I hope young people continue to work hard. Jiangsu has provided great support for aerospace,” said Qi Faren, Academician of the CAE Member, the first chief designer of Shenzhou Spacecraft.
Many industry insiders believe that Jiangsu, with a solid manufacturing foundation and significant talent advantages, will have great potential in the development of the aerospace industry.
“I pay more attention to the forum on aerospace control, which is also very meaningful for my university. It can make our research work more in line with the needs of the country by applying the new theoretical methods and technologies we have developed to aerospace, and contribute Jiangsu elements and wisdom to the construction of a strong aerospace country,” said Jiang Bin, Vice President of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
“From the perspective of aerospace ecology, I think Jiangsu is very good. In terms of talent education, Jiangsu is also a very advantageous province. In the future, Jiangsu will continue to develop its commercial aerospace industry,” said Sun Gongling, Professor of International Space University and Academician of International Academy of Astronautics.
