The 2023 China Yangzhou "Flowery March" International Economy, Trade and Tourism Festival kicked off Tuesday morning in Yangzhou city, east China"s Jiangsu province. 36 major investment projects were inked at the opening ceremony.

Since the start of the second quarter, Yangzhou has launched 174 investment projects with a total investment of 160 billion yuan.
The list of Top Tax-Contribution Enterprises and Exemplary Sci-Tech Innovation Enterprises were announced at the ceremony.
Wang Jinjian, Secretary of the Yangzhou Municipal Party Committee, invited businessmen from all over the world to invest and seek development opportunities in Yangzhou.
The Innovation Centers of Yangzhou in Other Places were also launched concurrently. Yangzhou has initiated the construction of innovation centers in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Suzhou, and Xi"an in a bid to further gather high-end innovation resources and expanding scientific and technological innovation projects.
In recent years, Yangzhou has introduced and settled a batch of new scientific and technological innovation platforms such as the National Automobile Lightweight Research Institute. At the same time, Yangzhou has been awarded honorary titles, including the National Innovation City and the National Small and Micro Enterprise "Innovation and Entrepreneurship" Demonstration Base. Its urban innovation ecological index ranks among the top 10 cities in the Yangtze River Delta.
"Our international lightweight platform is a collaborative innovation platform project introduced by Yangzhou City in February last year. It was jointly initiated by the China Society of Automotive Engineering and the China Automotive Lightweight Alliance, and is a scientific and technological innovation platform created by multiple domestic vehicle, component, and material companies. Last year, we introduced several enterprises to Yangzhou, and three have already settled down. We will continue to work hard this year. I think Yangzhou has become a research and development highland in the field of automotive lightweight in China. With the overall foundation of Yangzhou"s automotive and parts industry, I believe it can promote a high-quality development of Yangzhou"s automotive industry," said Liang Dongming, Director and General Manager of National Automobile Lightweight (Jiangsu)Research Institute.
Yangzhou has over 11000 large-scale enterprises, including 1774 national high-tech enterprises and 268 national little giant enterprises. Yangzhou has nearly 700000 business entities, standing for one entrepreneur in every 6.5 Yangzhou residents.
More than 1400 foreign-funded enterprises from 65 countries and regions have settled in Yangzhou. Last year, the city recorded foreign direct investment of 1.733 billion US dollars and a total import and export volume of more than 100 billion yuan.
Yangzhou has launched six overseas business liaison offices in Germany, Italy, the United States, Japan, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates, laying out a new global investment roadmap.
During the Trade and Tourism Festival, 26 sub-activities were arranged, including 15 economic and trade activities and 11 cultural and tourism activities, which will bring more markets, opportunities, and partners to Yangzhou"s enterprises.
