The 50-day countdown theme activity of the "2023 Third Cross-Strait Youth Culture Month" was held in Nanjing Museum on Thursday morning.

The month-long Third Cross-Strait Youth Culture Month, which will open in August, will be based on the theme of a new expression of traditional culture and organize the youth across the Taiwan Straits to exchange the new traditional culture in daily life, such as clothing, food, housing, transportation and entertainment, through cultural salons, literary creation, cultural creation contests, and some other colorful forms, so as to build a bridge of communication in culture.

"I hope to gain a deeper understanding of traditional culture and intangible cultural heritage in Jiangsu through this event," said Dai Yuting, a Taiwan youth representative.

"This event is of a larger scale, with approximately 400 to 500 young people who have never visited the mainland in the past. We hope to give full play to the advantages of Jiangsu"s outstanding talents and Taiwanese businesses by highlighting the main theme of the new expression of traditional culture so as to make it a grand event of cross-strait youth exchange full of youthful vitality and cultural atmosphere," said Yang Wulin, a member of Suzhou Executive Committee of Cross-Strait Youth Culture Month and the Deputy Director of Suzhou Municipal Taiwan Affairs Office.

Two youngsters from Taiwan shared their experience of participating in Youth Culture Month on both sides of the Taiwan Straits.

Youth representatives from both sides of the Taiwan Strait jointly delivered a letter to Taiwanese youth, inviting them to gather in Jiangsu to share a cultural feast and make more friends with young people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait during Culture Month.

The teachers and students from Kangqiao School in Kunshan sang a song with the youth from the mainland, showcasing the vitality of the youth from both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
